Please be advised of the following updates for the 2020 season.
We will be holding camp on Tuesday August 18th and Thursday August 20th only
No camp activities this week
Camp is free to all participants
We will begin “practices” the week of August 24th as previously planned.
With the league ultimately deciding to cancel the season, our season will look a little different from the norm. The structure will be for 1-2 practices a week and 1 game per week.
Cheer will be pretty close to normal. We will practice game cheers, work on half time routines and cheer for games. The main difference will be the reduced number of practices and most, if not all games, will be at our complex.
Flag football teams
Will also be pretty close to normal, except for the reduced number of practices and most, if not all games, will be at our complex. We feel it’s important to play flag as we normally would, at least to start. The kids need to learn the fundamentals of football and how to play the game. Kids will be issued all the equipment they normally would for a regular season.
Tackle football teams
We will prepare the kids for 11v11 football as well as introduce many of them to 7v7 football for their first time. We decided the 7v7 structure will accommodate “in house” games and reduces frequency of contact between the kids. 11v11 will help develop the skills the kids will need for future football and provide us flexibility to participate with other organizations, if feasible.
7v7 football is played with a center (tee), a QB and a combination of 5 WR’s/RB’s. The defense is comprised of 7 players (combination of LBs, DBs and Safeties). We know that some kids have only played line to this point. In this model, there are no lineman. However, we feel this is also a good time to allow kids to expand their horizons and play positions they may not normally experience and help them to develop in other facets.
Games will be played in uniform. All football players will be in gym shorts and game jerseys and will be required to wear a mouth piece.
Pricing will be reduced to $30 per participant for the entire season.
Parents essentially have two options at this point;
Refund difference between registration fee and $30 fee for season and be a full participant in all practices and games
Full refund of registration fee and end of your child’s 2020 season
** At this very moment we do not have a procedure in place for issuing refunds (full or partial). We ask that you have a little patience with us as we wade through the process and create a procedure that is not chaotic. We’ll provide an update on refund process this week. **
We feel that what we’ve outlined above is the best solution to a difficult situation. We feel it’s important to create a structure that will enable us to carry out an effective season of learning and kids returning to being physically active. This structure is not dependent on other organizations to be successful. However, we will continue our discussions with the other organizations who voted in favor of a season and see if we can coordinate friendly competition with those organizations during the season.
We're pleased to announce our 2020 head coaches. We're excited for those that have been selected this year and look forward to selecting the remaining coaches.
Andres Morales will be leading this year’s Varsity team as their Head Coach. This will be his 1st season with the Steelers. Andres was a standout player at Liberty High School and played 4 years at Rutgers University and 1 year at Bloomsbury University. He is also the founder of the East Penn Steel Rockets 7 on 7 teams. His coaching experience ranges from Middle School and High School. Andres has been busy putting together a solid staff of coaches ready to help develop these kids for their middle school and high school football futures.
Charles Thomm will be leading this year's Junior Varsity team. This will be his 1st season with the Steelers. Charles played football up until his Senior Year at Easton High School. Charles has been in assistant coaching roles for the BECA Junior Hawks and the Emmaus Hornets. Charles is looking forward to being a Head Coach here at the Steelers and is determined to teach our young men how to play the game with pride and respect.
Angelo Ramos will be returning for another season as Head Coach. This year he’ll move up a level and lead our Pee Wee team. Last year, Angelo lead our 80# tackle team to a successful season. They won the year-end Hokey Bowl and were well on their way to a Bethlehem Bowl championship. Angelo and his staff will look to move the kids from their first season of tackle to their first year of the league recognized “competitive” football. As they have a strong staff and a solid group of kids, we’ll look forward to what this team will be able to accomplish in 2020.
Jr Pee Wee
Teriek Laney will be returning as a Head Coach in the Steelers organization. Teriek played football up until his Senior Year at his Newark, New Jersey High School. He was an assistant last season at our Flag A level and also has youth football coaching experience in New Jersey. He will look to introduce our youngest group of tackle players from flags to full contact.
Hassan McCoy will be leading our Flag A division this year. This will be Hassan’s first year with the Steelers. Hassan’s football experience ranges from Pop Warner to being on the NY GIANTS practice squad. Hassan has also played in many Semi-Pro and Professional Arena football leagues. Hassan will work to develop our younger kids and also prepare them for tackle football.
William Leone will be leading our Flag B division this year. This will be William’s second year with the Steelers as he was a parent last year. William played football from Pop Warner through High School in the Fullerton area. Will is excited about the opportunity and is ready to introduce the youngest boys of our organization to the game of football.
Final decisions have not been made regarding cheer Head Coaches at this time. We have received applications from several interested coaches. If you’re still interested in being a Cheer HC, there is still a little time left to apply. We felt it’s best to see how many girls we have, their ages, ability, etc before assigning head coaches and splitting them into groups. Once we have a firm idea on the number of girls, that’ll help us to determine exactly how many head coaches we’ll appoint and at what levels. We will be sure to advise everyone as soon as decisions have been made.

As we transition internally into new roles and new personnel this season, we look forward to positive efforts and are working hard to establish STEELER PRIDE across the organization. We'd like to once again remind everyone that in order to be the best we can be, we need positive contributors. If you feel that you can assist in a positive way, that will assist us in providing a positive and memorable atmosphere for our players and cheerleaders, PLEASE GET INVOLVED. If you're looking for the right organization for your child, please consider joining us.
We will be opening our Head Coach application process this week. Our organization releases and interviews for all Head Coaching positions each year, so no spot is currently filled. We have added several requirements for candidates that we hope will aid the selection process. If you know someone who may be a great fit and meet all requirements, please encourage them to contact us and apply. Please direct them to contact us at
We are looking for the best role models and leaders to help build a foundation for the children. We look forward to a great season!

This year we bring back another former Steelers assistant coach, this time in a Head Coaching capacity. Larry Ford helped coach our Steelers Arena team in 2017. Antwahn has previous head coaching experience with the NFL Flag, Jr Stampede and PA Rebels youth arena teams as well as the Bethlehem Raiders. Angelo Ramos will be returning as a Head Coach in the Steelers organization. He has been out of coaching the past two seasons but has three years prior coaching experience at the Steelers. In addition to being a former Steelers HC at the flag level, Angelo also has youth and high school coaching experience in New Jersey prior to moving to Pennsylvania. He will look to introduce our youngest group of tackle players from flags to full contact.
Gio Garcia will return for his 2nd season as the Flag A Head Coach. This year, he will work to continue developing our younger kids and also prepare them for tackle football. We’re happy to see Gio return with many of the kids he coached last year. He will work to blend the returning Flag A players with the kids moving up from the Flag B team. All Flag players will participate in one cohesive group until the teams are split into their respective teams when the season starts.
A final decision has not been made at this time regarding the Flag B head coach(es). However, we’re very excited to have several, more than qualified head coaches interested in leading this year’s team(s). We will be sure to advise everyone as soon as final decisions have been made.
